Quality Assurance
Program
ABCO’s Quality Assurance Program
provides a comprehensive and systematic approach to the
observation and photo documentation of the construction process.
The program provides documentation of the construction process
before key components become inaccessible. Site visits are
coordinated around key milestones of the construction process by
ABCO’s certified professionals. The scope of work has been
developed with particular attention to construction processes
that have a high potential for construction defect litigation.
The program addresses incorrect construction practices, improper
material usage and lack of adherence to the design documents.
The components addressed in ABCO’s typical scope of work
include, but are not limited to, the following:
·
Damp Proofing
·
Perimeter
Drains
·
Crawlspace
Ventilation
·
Framing
·
Windows/Doors
·
Exterior Wall
Cladding
·

·

·

·

·

·

·
Post-construction Exterior Wall Claddings
·
Post-construction Roofing
·
Post-construction Hardscape and Landscape
·
Post-construction Building Stormwater Systems
The listed components are divided
into various subcomponents. Each subcomponent is then assigned a
sampling rate based on the risk potential. These pre-assigned
sampling rates can be modified by the client based on their level of
risk tolerance or requirements.
Within the program, ABCO utilizes a
process to identify and resolve any noted deficiencies. Following
each site visit, ABCO transmits an electronic copy of the Site
Status Report (SSR) to all client-designated recipients. The SSR
contains project-specific information including general site
progress, field observations performed, identification and/or
resolution and status of action items accompanied with photographic
documentation.
The
final product of this service is a final report on CD created for
each home or building observed that includes a statement of
compliance, completed observation dates of components and
photographic documentation demonstrating the building project’s
compliance with the design documents.
